Township Rollers coach Nikola Kavazovic has confirmed that there is interest from PSL clubs but he is remaining focused on his current job.
The Serbian has been linked with the jobs at both Kaizer Chiefs and Baroka, after the superb job he has done in Botswana. He led Rollers to the group stages of the Caf Champions League for the first time in the club’s history, becoming the first team from Botswana to compete in Africa’s showpiece club competition.
Speaking to SoccerLaduma about his future, the 42-year-old said, ‘Everything is in the hands of my agent, Mr Ivica Stankovic. I am informed that few clubs are interested in my services, and I will let him choose what could be the most suitable for my first season in South Africa. Whatever he decides, I will accept without questions.’
When asked whether he would be open to a move into the Absa Premiership, he replied, ‘Sure, but only if those clubs can provide conditions which will satisfy my agent and my family. We are not talking just about money, but also about the structure and facilities of the club.’
Kavazovic revealed that he is happy at Rollers and if a move did not materialise, it would not be the end of the world: ‘I am more than happy with Rollers! I am playing in the Champions League! The only club in South Africa that share that wonderful experience at the moment is Mamelodi Sundowns.
‘But as I said, if Mr Stankovic recommends that I should move, for me that is amen. If he suggests to me to continue with Rollers and Champions League, then it’s also the same. He will not take just anything from South African clubs, he will bring a decision carefully,’ he added.
The Serbian’s side currently sit top of the Premier League in Botswana with two games left to go, and Kavazovic will be focused on making sure that they secure their third consecutive league title.
