Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune says proper communication and good leadership has played a crucial role in their recent turn in form this season.
The Glamour boys are set to take on Orlando Pirates in a much anticipated Soweto derby at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
The 29-year-old has now gone five consecutive matches in all competitions without conceding a goal, while his side have also secured five straight wins in the process.
The Bafana Bafana shot-stopper says he is working hard during training to improve his performance and help his side gain success this season.
‘I am not in the game to break any records,’ Khune told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
‘I play to better myself and to help my teammates. My success is their success, their success is my success and, if we work together, we will benefit as a team.’
Khune believes that Amakhosi’s success has been built on a foundation of working together as a team with his leadership.
‘Hard-work perseverance, proper communication and also good leadership at the back have helped us get to where we are at present,’ he added.
Kaizer Chiefs will next welcome Orlando Pirates to the FNB Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
Kick-off has been set for 15:30.
