Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has admitted he faces a selection headache following the excellent form of left back Sibusiso Khumalo.
Khumalo has been in fine form for the Amakhosi in recent months to nail down a starting position in the Glamour Boys’ starting lineup. In the process, the star dislodged Chiefs’ long-serving left back Tsepo Masilela, who Komphela maintains will be ready should he be called upon.
‘I think it is down to being teammates and understanding clearly what we want to achieve,’ Komphela said according to KickOff.
‘But one must quickly mention that Tsepo is a hell of a good player. S’bu was brought in and he got in nicely. You still have Tsepo who at any given time we can play, though you have to compliment the fact that S’bu has gone in and done well.’
Komphela has also weighed in on his options across the rest of his starting lineup as he determines who to select for the side’s Soweto Derby clash this coming weekend.
‘There has to be harmony, because at the back of harmony you get good team spirit and you get results and that is what we are trying to manage,’ Komphela concluded.
The heavyweight clash between Orlando Pirates and Chiefs will be played at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
The action gets underway at 15:30.
