Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela admits the suspended midfielder Willard Katsande will be missed ahead of their next Absa Premiership match.
The 30-year-old picked up his fourth yellow card during his side’s 3-1 defeat to Chippa United and is set to miss his side’s next Absa Premiership encounter on 14 December.
Although Katsande will be missed, Komphela thinks Amakhosi has the quality players to replace him.
‘It is an opportunity for someone to take up the position,’ Komphela said. ‘If you look at the team, we are sitting on about eleven [players] injured – and [those are] serious injuries, which shouldn’t come across as an excuse again.
‘And now we’re missing Katsande as well; it is a big challenge but I’m saying it is an opportunity for someone else to take the opportunity that Katsande has left.
‘It’s not easy but you cannot complain, no excuses. Keep on doing your job.’
Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to get back to winning ways against Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday.
The match at FNB Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
