Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen says he was pleased with his side’s work rate following their 1-0 victory over Highlands Park at the Makhulong Stadium on Sunday.
An 86th-minute goal from Danny Phiri was enough for Abafana Bes’thende to secured all three points to returned to second on the Absa Premiership standings.
The 45-year-old coach believes his side deserved to walk away with all three points after dominating and creating the best chances of the match.
‘We weren’t at our best in the first half, we weren’t in the game … but we grew as the game went on, and in the second half, there was only one team in it,’ Larsen after the game.
‘We totally dominated, and created chance after chance, and once again it was the final ball that let us down.’
Larsen admits that there are no easy matches in the Absa Premiership and he admits that the Lions of the North put up a great fight.
‘There’s no easy games in this league – we keep saying this as coaches, regardless of where you play, especially away from home – it’s tough,’ he added.
Golden Arrows will now take on Mamelodi Sundowns when the two side’s meet in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.
The match at Lucas Moripe Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
