Golden Arrows CEO Gordon Masondo have dismissed reports suggesting that coach Clinton Larsen has parted ways with the club.
Recent rumours reported that Abafana Bes’thende have released Larsen from his position as head coach, despite his side’s impressive start to the season.
Arrows CEO Gordon Masondo has since rubbished the rumours, declaring that it would be ‘amateurish’ to sack Larsen while the club is at the top of the Absa Premiership.
‘It would be very amateurish and stupid for the club to do that. It would be that for any club that would do something like that. I mean, the club is at the top of the log and suddenly the coach is fired,’ Masondo told SoccerLaduma.
‘Here at Arrows, we’re not running a spaza shop. We are not operating from the boot of a car. They need to know that whoever has written that, I will do everything possible to find out where they got that information from.
He added: Some people are always trying to derail whatever they see is going to the right direction. Why are they saying such things? What have we done to who for them to go out and spread lies about the club? Whoever is responsible for this will be dealt with categorically.’
Abafana Bes’thende chairperson Mato Madlala has confirmed that the 45-year-old coach was present at Arrows training session this morning ahead of their clash against SuperSport United in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.
‘It doesn’t deserve response really, he’s is taking training this very second, it’s nonsense that he’s been fired… They must go take a picture of him,’ Madlala said.
The match at Princess Magogo Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
