Bafana Bafana forward Zakhele Lepasa has announced his return to Orlando Pirates following his loan spell at SuperSport United.
The 26-year-old struggled for game time at Pirates during the 2022-23 season and spent the second half of the season on loan at SuperSport.
Lepasa made a total of 23 appearances across all competitions and contributed to four goals including three goals and one assists this past season.
The forward made 13 appearances, scored one goal and grabbed one assist for the Buccaneers while featuring 10 times for SuperSport and netting two goals last season.
Despite his struggles this past season, Lepasa made the most of his opportunity with the national team and played a crucial role in helping the South African national team qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
“This is one day I never looked forward to. Having to officially say goodbye to what has become a home. I have spent so much time with great people that welcomed me and made it easy for me to play,” Lepasa posted on Twitter
I won’t forget the opportunity I was given. Thank you SuperSport United and Good luck.”
