SuperSport United captain Dean Furman says the team should make the Lucas Moripe Stadium a formidable place to visit ahead of their Absa Premiership clash against Maritzburg United on Wednesday.
Matsatsantsa were held to a 0-0 goalless draw with Chippa United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old says the Fifa international break has disrupted his side performance this season and he hoped that their hard work would’ve paid off against the Chilli Boys, however, the match ended in a stalemate.
‘The international breaks really disrupt the flow of the season. Although this is something all teams must contend with, it feels like a long time since our last game,’ Furman told the SuperSport website.
‘We have been looking forward to the game for a few weeks and we hoped the work we have put in over the past few weeks would help us secure the victory last night.’
Furman insists that in order for his side to have a successful campaign this season, his side needs to make their home a difficult place to take points away.
‘It is important our home form is strong this season. This was an area we struggled with last year and I believe our away form was very good,’ he added.
‘In order to be successful this season we must make our home a formidable place for us and a difficult place for visitors to pick up points.’
The match at the Harry Gwala Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
