Bafana Bafana midfielder Luke Le Roux has opened up on his move to Swedish outfit IFK Varnamo.

After leaving FC Volendam due to their relegation to the Dutch second level, the 24-year-old has joined Varnamo.

During the 2023–24 season, the South African midfielder made 14 appearances in the Eredivisie with Volendam, however he only scored one goal.

Le Roux signed a two-year contract and has already completed his transfer to the Swedish team.

“I am very excited to have signed for IFK Värnamo. Värnamo is one of the most exciting and ball-playing teams in the Allsvenskan,” Le Roux told his club’s official website.

“I know that from having played against them (us) on quite a few occasions in the past. I got a very good feeling about Värnamo as soon as I heard about the club’s interest and it became even greater when I met the people at the club (Enes, Anes and Vedran).

“The vision that Värnamo has convinced me immediately, and I immediately felt that this is an exciting project and a club that I would like to be a part of.

“I’m really excited about this and looking forward to stepping out onto Finnvedsvallen in front of our supporters.”
