Bafana Bafana midfielder Luke Le Roux has completed a move to Swedish outfit IFK Varnamo.

The 24-year-old joins Varnamo after parting ways with FC Volendam following their relegation to the Dutch second division.

The South African midfielder only managed to score one goal in 14 appearances in the Eredivisie for Volendam during the 2023–24 season.

Le Roux has since completed his move to the Swedish side after putting pen to paper on a two-year contract.

IFK Varnamo have since released the following statement on the capture of Le Roux:

We are happy to announce that 24-year-old midfielder Luke Le Roux has signed for IFK Värnamo.

The South African midfield majesty has signed a contract with the club which runs through the 2026 season and he is expected to join the playing squad in the next week.

Luke comes most recently from playing in FC Volendam and the Dutch top league where there were 14 appearances and one goal in the past season. He has previously also represented Varberg’s BoIS on the Allsvenskan stage.

Luke wore the green and black jersey on 99 occasions and made himself remembered for his passing game as well as his running ability and duel play. On the merit list, we also note 5 matches for “Bafana Bafana”, the South African national team.
