The Premier Soccer League acting chief executive Mato Madlala has praises Mamelodi Sundowns following their victory over Zesco United in the Caf Champions League semi-final second leg.
The Brazilians clinched a 2-0 victory over Zesco to advance into the finals with a 3-2 aggregate score over the Zambian side.
Madlala says Sundowns triumph in the African tournament should be celebrated after there impressive second leg performance.
‘We are extremely proud of what has been achieved by our member, Mamelodi Sundowns in the Caf Champions League,’ Madlala said.
‘We watched on Saturday night when they played Zesco United and we were filled with pride. Not only did we celebrate the victory, but we were also impressed by the manner it was achieved.’
The PSL acting chief executive continued to say she is confident that Pitso Mosimane’s side will be victorious in the two-legged final.
‘As Mamelodi Sundowns edge closer to making history and conquer African club football, as the League, we are equally excited about this progress. Their success will always be associated with the PSL,’ she added.
‘We would like to congratulate them on the achievement so far. Of course the big task lies ahead in the final but we are confident they will ride this wave and bring glory to the country.’
Mamelodi Sundowns will now turn their attention to the MTN8 finals when they take on Bidvest Wits at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 17:00.
