Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Neo Maema has settled in nicely at the club and is ready to “build something strong” with his new teammates.

The 25-year-old made the switch to Sundowns after his contract ended at Bloemfontein Celtic and has since penned a five-year deal with the Brazilians.

Maema will be eager to showcase his talents at Sundowns to cement his place in the first team following his campaign with Siwelele, where he bagged three goals from 17 appearances.

The attacking midfielder is relishing the chance to link up with former teammates Lyle Lakay and Thapelo Morena, whom he played alongside during their time at Celtic.

“Coming to Mamelodi Sundowns has been a privilege,” Maema told his club’s official website.

“Settling in with the guys has been very good, it is very challenging but the guys made it very easy for me to settle in.

“There are quite a lot of guys that I made friends with, like Mshishi [Themba Zwane] and Aubrey Modiba just to mention a few.

“Lyle Lakay and Thapelo Morena [both former Bloemfontein Celtic players] are the guys that have shown me around, we [have always been] connected from Celtic, we had a good relationship and [we are] still building something strong.”
