Chippa United coach Dan Malesela say he is hoping his side can return to winning ways when they welcome Cape Town City to the Nelson Mandela Stadium on Saturday.
The Chilli Boys will now go in search of their first win in five matches after coming back from a five-game winless streak, which includes two draws against Bloemfontein Celtic and Platinum Stars.
The 51-year-old believes the international break has given his side the edge and he insists that he side are fully focused on their next match against the Cape Town base side.
‘The FIFA break gave us an opportunity to go back to the training ground and find solutions,’ Malesela told the Chippa United website.
‘We are fully focused on the next challenge. We need to knuckle down and show the hunger to win games again. We lacked a bit of effort against Bidvest Wits and at the end that was a difference between ourselves and them.
Malesela says his side’s main objective for the upcoming match is to walk away with all three points and end their five-match winless run.
‘We have a responsibility all of us here to defend the Chippa United emblem and take this project to greater heights. We have reminded the players of their bit on the field of play,’ he added.
‘We are playing at home and our objective when we take the field is to win and it will not be different on Saturday.’
The Chilli Boys has been boosted by the return of midfielder Andile Mbenyane and captain Thamsanqa Sangweni, who returns to training after their respective injuries.
Kick-off has been set for 15:30.
