Real Madrid are reportedly keeping an eye on Eswatini wonderkid Leon Manyisa after attending a trial period at the Spanish giants.
The 18-year-old was invited to training with Los Blancos’ B team after impressing a Real Madrid scout while he was on holiday in Eswatini.
However, Manyisa was on course for a second trial with the LaLiga giants, but the playmaker was unable to attend the trial due to visa issues, according to BBC Football.
‘I got a call to go for trials at Real Madrid, I was so excited,’ Manyisa said. ‘I started playing for the national team while I was young, at the age of six.
‘I started from U13 all the way up to the senior team this year – I was so afraid to go to Real but it was a great achievement for me.’
The Vovovo FC midfielder also revealed that if a move to Madrid does not materialise, he would like to play for one of the teams in the Absa Premiership.
‘I am hoping to get another chance [of going to Spain] in January. If not, I wouldn’t mind playing in South Africa. I follow South African football,’ he added.
‘I wouldn’t mind playing for any team, even Chippa United or Bidvest Wits. I like the way Sundowns play. I love their style of football. I wouldn’t mind playing for Sundowns, Chippa United, Wits or any team in the PSL.’
