Maritzburg United are reportedly nearing a deal for the signing of Bloemfontein Celtic shot-stopper Bongani Mpandle.
Mpandle will reportedly put pen to paper on a three-year contract at the club with the fee handed out by Team of Choice remaining undisclosed.
Mpandle has been playing in a backup role at Celtic as Patrick Tignyemb remains the first choice goalkeeper, a position which seems even more secure of late given the Cameroonian was recently handed the captain’s armband at Phunya Sele Sele.
Mpandle’s Celtic switch will likely give the 23-year-old an opportunity to compete for more playing time.
‘We have agreed on a transfer fee with Maritzburg United. He is gone,’ a source from Celtic told KickOff.
Meanwhile, the player’s agent Les Mohami has also confirmed the deal is all but complete.
‘I can’t give you much except that yes we are speaking to Maritzburg United with the potential of signing,’ he said.
Maritzburg are expected to announce their new signings in the coming week.
