Platinum Stars general manager Senzo Mazingiza says he is hopeful that his side will find their form and become an even stronger team this year.
Dikwena are currently placed 13th on the Absa Premiership standings with 14 points after winning just three out of 14 matches during 2016.
Mazingiza says he is not happy with the club’s current position in the PSL but he remains hopeful that Cavin Johnson’s side will come back even strong this year.
‘We are hopeful that we will do much better than we did in the last six months. It’s been an interesting journey. We should have done much better,’ Mazingiza told the Platinum Stars website.
‘Competition is very high this season. Others cubs went out to spend a lot of money on players and technical teams. We did relatively okay but I am not happy with the position we are in. We would have been comfortable if we are up there in the top eight. We are going to come back strong.
‘Towards the end of the year, in our last four matches, you could see that it was the Platinum Stars we know. The boys were knocking the ball around and they were confident. We will come back strong.’
When the Absa Premiership returns, Platinum Stars will next face Orlando Pirates at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on February 8.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 19:30.
