Maritzburg United coach Ernst Middendorp revealed that he would like to retain the services of midfielder Abia Nale for the 2016-17 Absa Premiership season.
The 29-year-old has only managed to make seven appearances for the Team of Choice after joining the side on a short-term deal in November following his departure from Mpumalanga Black Aces, reports KickOff.com.
Middendorp believes Nale can add value to the United squad for the up and coming Absa Premiership season.
‘We have to check with the management first and I definitely have an ambition to keep him. I know with good preparation and time he is a good professional,’ Middendorp said.
‘He’s qualified player and we don’t have to talk about his qualification although he didn’t come immediately and deliver. But how he worked it was fantastic.
The 57-year old coach believes that Nale has enough time to prepare for next season and insisting that the midfielder can be of value to the Team of Choice in attack.
‘With preparation time on his side he can be very crucial in our attack,’ the coach added.
The attacking midfielder has also had spells at Kaizer Chiefs, Golden Arrows and Ajax Cape Town.
