Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Enocent Mkhabela looks set to leave the club on loan in January in the hopes of getting more game time under his belt.

The 27-year-old has not made a single appearance for the Glamour Boys since joining the club on a free transfer at the beginning of the 2016-17 season.

A SoccerLaduma source confirmed that Mkhabela is not part of Steve Komphela’s plans for this season and is likely to be farmed out to another club in the hopes of earning more game time.

‘The team feels that he needs to be playing more regularly and the only way to do that is for him to be loaned out. It’s hard to come in and replace the existing midfielders… the attacking ones and defensive ones … and with Keagan Buchanan coming back, there will be even more competition,’ a source told SoccerLaduma.

The same source has also revealed that it will be hard for Mkhabela to play this season with Buchanan and Katsande in the squad.

‘It will be difficult for Mkhabela to play this season and that’s why they want to loan him out in January and see whether Willard Katsande will leave for France next season or not,’ the source added.
