Cape Town City defender Thamsanqa Mkhize says he wants to make history with the club by winning the Telkom Knockout finals against SuperSport United on Saturday.
Eric Tinkler’s side are making their debut in the finals while Matsatsantsa have already made three appearances in the finals, winning the cup once in 2014.
The 28-year-old admits that he would like to make his with the club by winning their first piece of silverware this season.
‘I wouldn’t say we have to prove a point but obviously as a player when you playing in the PSL you want to make history,’ Mkhize said ahead of City’s TKO finals clash against Matsatsantsa.
‘We also want to make history for Cape Town City and we want to win this cup but we are grateful that we got an opportunity to make it to the finals.
‘Now we just have to push to win the finals.’
Cape Town City will now lock horns with SuperSport United in the finals of the Telkom Knockout Cup on Saturday.
