Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi says that they are happy with the competition for places in the squad with Khuliso Mudau keepin Thapelo Morena out of the team with Man of the Match performances.
Mudau was named as Man of the Match on Wednesday afternoon for his outstanding showing in his sides 1-0 win over Golden Arrows in the DStv Premiership.
The full back has been given a chance in recent weeks after Morena picked up a small injury with Bafana Bafana and Muda has taken the chance with both hands.
Speaking after the win over Arrows, Mngqithi admitted that they are happy with the competition for places in the team
“It’s funny that when he was coming off the pitch myself and coach Wendell Robinson said that he was probably the Man of the Match because he had an outstanding performance on the day”, Mngqithi said.
“He is growing in leaps and bounds.
“We are happy as a group because we want this competition between him and Thapelo Morena to stay strong.
“It’s good for us to always have two people who can always give a good account of themselves and we are happy now that Mudau is coming up and hopefully he can be a little bit more consistent with his performances because it is going to help us a lot.”
The Brazilians are set to turn their attentions back to the CAF Champions League on Sunday when they host Congolese side AS Maniema at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
