SuperSport United midfielder Aubrey Modiba says he feels excited ahead of his side’s Telkom Knockout Cup finals against Cape Town City on Saturday.
Matsatsantsa will be making their fifth appearances in the finals while City are making their debut in the knockout finals at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
The 21-year-old could not hide his excitement at playing in his hometown and he believes it is going to be a ‘memorable’ finals for him and the club.
‘I’m happy to go and play a Cup final in my hometown. This is really a good feeling and I can’t wait to be in Polokwane,’ Modiba told the SuperSport United website.
‘I will be playing in front of my family, friends and most of all my fans. It is really going to be a memorable event.’
The Bafana Bafana midfielder has cautioned his side to remain focused at the task at hand after both side’s recent form in all competitions.
‘Both teams are on a good run. City are playing good football and they are scoring goals. We just need to be cautious and keep the same attitude,’ he added.
‘However, we must win this one for our fans and this will be a good Christmas gift to them.’
Kick-off has been set for 18:00.
