Mamelodi Sundowns veteran midfielder Teko Modise has sets his sights on winning the elusive MTN8 this season.
The 33-year-old joined Sundowns from Orlando Pirates in January 2011 and has lifted two Absa Premiership titles, the Nedbank Cup, and the Telkom Knockout trophy during his five years at the Brazilians.
The Bafana Bafana international is proud of his recent achievements, but his hungry to lift the MTN8; the only piece of silverware that is missing from his CV.
‘I think the last four years have been the best of my career – I’ve achieved a lot,’ Modise told KickOff.
‘I can’t complain, I’ve won four trophies. The only trophy I haven’t won is the MTN8 – hopefully, I will win it.
‘If you asked me five years ago [if this was the best move of my career], I would have said no – nobody knew what was going to happen. I took a chance with Sundowns and Sundowns also took a chance with me and it worked out,’ he added.
Last season, the veteran midfielder helped Sundowns to a domestic double winning the Telkom Knockout and Absa Premiership title, while scoring three goals and creating eight assists from 34 appearances.
