Veteran midfielder Teko Modise says Mamelodi Sundowns are on course to making history as the clubs best squad ever ahead of their MTN8 finals on Saturday.
The Brazilians will now take on Gavin Hunt’s Bidvest Wits side in the cup finals at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
The 33-year-old says his side face a tough task ahead but insists that his side can make history by becoming the best Sundowns team the club has ever had.
‘We plan accordingly whenever there is a competition that we are playing in and the first thing that the coach said to us was that this is a trophy that we don’t usually do well in,’ Modise said.
‘[The coach] then told us that all we need to do is make sure we are in the finals and then take it from there.
‘We are now in the final and up against a very good team on Saturday, this is one trophy that is very important for the team. Within the next three weeks, we are in a position to make history and get to be the best Mamelodi Sundowns team ever.’
The match at Mbombela Stadium kicks off at 17:00.
