SuperSport United have promoted central midfielder Teboho Mokoena from the development academy to join the senior team for the 2016-17 season.

Mokoena has been a regular member of Matsatsantsa’s Multichoice Diski Challenge side last season and his contribution to the team did not go unnoticed, reports the SuperSport United website.

The talented young midfielder was also part of the South African U20 squad that qualified for the African Youth Championships recently.

The midfielder was also on the bench for Matsatsantsa during their Absa Premiership opener against Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

SuperSport United will now return to the Absa Premiership when they take on Chippa United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on September 14.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
