Maritzburg United defender Bryce Moon has expressed excitement at his long-awaited return to the city of Pietermaritzburg.
Moon was one of 10 new signings unveiled by Maritzburg on Wednesday and his return to KwaZulu-Natal sees him return back to the province of his youth.
‘I am excited and it is good to be back home. I think it is inevitable that I had to come back home at some point. It is has been 18 years since I’ve lived at home,’ Moon told SuperSport.
‘Now I am back home and I am really looking forward to being back in Pietermaritzburg and settling in at home.’
A former Mpumalanga Black Aces and Mamelodi Sundowns player, Moon has praised the young talent at the disposal of the Team of Choice.
‘We have a great group of youngsters working with us, a good coach and technical team, good directors and owners who are right behind the team so I am looking forward to a great season,’ Moon continued.
The former Bafana Bafana defender, who last played for the national team six years ago, is hopeful a return to form could see him challenge for the squad.
‘My goal this season is obviously to give my best to Maritzburg United and to get back into the Bafana Bafana team.
‘But, definitely I want to win something and build something with this club; that is my most important goal right now,’ he concluded.
Moon made 17 appearances for Black Aces last term.
