Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has played down rumours he is looking to sign SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie.

The New Zealander has been a revelation since joining Matsatsantsa, netting 18 goals for the club across all competitions this season.

According to the rumours, the Brazilians are prepared to offer defender Mario Booysen and midfielder Ejike Uzoenyi as part of an exchange for the 28-year old, while SuperSport would only entertain the deal in the event that they can secure Bidvest Wits striker James Keene as a replacement.

‘When we try to get players from the teams it become difficult,’ Mosimane told KickOff

‘They ask a lot of money. Gone are those days when Sundowns takes money out and splashes it. If somebody wants to do a deal with us, we will do the deal. If teams don’t want to do the deal, it’s okay.’

Although seemingly suggesting a deal looks an unlikely prospect, Mosimane is adamant the side will stick to its guns.

‘We can go out with what we have to be honest but we will see,’ he concluded.

Brockie scored 11 of his goals in 28 league appearances for SuperSport this season and four in their Nedbank Cup-winning run.
