Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed he has agreed to continue as the current champions’ boss.

The 51-year-old had been in talks over a new deal for some time, but the terms of the deal had presented with challenges.

Mosimane has had a successful tenure at the side, having guided them to four titles in the past three seasons at Chloorkop. Now, at least, the manager has confirmed a deal has been struck.

‘My contract is sorted‚ I just need to sign it‚’ Mosimane told Goal.

‘I will sign it today [Monday] or tomorrow – no later than tomorrow [Tuesday].’

The coach was adamant that the hold-up to the deal had not been caused by his demands for an inflated salary.

‘With me it’s never about money. I’ve never fought for money‚ just principle. I need things to be done right‚ a few clauses to suit me so that I can do other things,’ he explained.

‘You also have to understand that as much as you are here‚ well looked after and you are happy‚ you must also understand that one day you might not be here. I’m well looked after by the way‚ I’m not complaining.’

The coach remained reluctant to bring up any of the terms of the deal.

‘A contract is just a piece of paper. How many coaches are sacked with a contract‚ local and overseas? You can sign for 10 years but then you are sacked in the next year.

‘My work must speak for me. If my work is good and I get a one-year contract‚ then I go for the one year. I know my work,’ he concluded.
