Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane was unsatisfied with the performance of his side after they edged Enyimba FC on Wednesday.
Sundowns were unconvincing in their match against the Nigerian side despite claiming a 2-1 victory in their Caf Champions League Group B game at home.
The Brazilians took the lead despite a sluggish first-half performance but performed better in the second-half as they dug deep to find the winner.
The victory took the South Africans to the top of the group with three points, after their opening fixture against ES Setif was nullified following the Algerian side’s expulsion from the tournament.
‘The result is important – the points – but we only played well in patches,’ the coach told KickOff.
‘I’m not very happy with the play and for me, it was not really convincing. The first goal we got a little bit of a scrappy one, but it counts at this point in time: in the Champions League, who cares? We want the goal.’
Mosimane implied his team may have done better to prevent their opposition’s solitary goal.
‘The second goal is obvious, we know it, we’ve seen it before from that corner kick. The funny part is the goal they scored, I also saw it before because they scored exactly the same goal last week [against Abia Warriors], from the same guy; from the same position.’
The PSL champions will now travel to Egypt for their next clash away to Zamalek.
The match will take place on July 17.
