Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane wants to lower the expectations surrounding his men before they kick-off their Caf Champions League group stage bid.
Sundowns face ES Setif in their opening game of Group B, while clashes with Nigeria’s Enyimba and Egyptian giants Zamalek still lie ahead.
‘Let Sundowns go and rub shoulders with Zamalek, they have won it maybe four or five times. I am not sure. Let Sundowns rub shoulders with Enyimba, they have won it about four times. Let Sundowns play Setif, they won it year before last year,’ Mosimane told KickOff.
‘Let’s enjoy, let us find out what is happening with these clubs, where are we. You guys also like to know where is South African football at this time compared to continental football.
‘Let’s see, we have a chance again next year. Maybe we can have fun this year and not fear next year.
‘We will say we have learnt our lessons and go for it.’
The Brazilians were gifted a second shot at the competition after bowing out at the final stage of qualifying, only to be reinstated following the disqualification of AS Vita.
Sundowns travel to Algeria for the match, which will be played at the Stade 8 Mai 1945 on Saturday, June 18.
The match kicks off at 23:15.
