Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has urged his side to show more composure in converting their chances in the final third.

The Brazilians extended their unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership to 18 games, despite being held to a goalless draw by Bloemfontein Celtic at the Fr Molemela Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Following their goalless draw, Sundowns currently occupy seventh place in the league standings with 10 points, while Celtic sit fourth on the table with 14 points.

Mosimane has urged his side to improved their ability to convert their chances in the final – having only scored seven goals in six games in the PSL so far this season.

‘Possession [and] dominance does not win you games,’ Mosimane told the media after the game.

‘You cannot be running 100 kilometres per hour, we don’t play like that. We need to see the ball moving from right to left, in between the spaces. What is needed is to release the pass when you are inside and coming in between the lines, release the pass for somebody to score.

‘If you don’t do that, then it looks nice, but there’s no X-factor. You can build it and show dominance, but as long as it does not have the X-factor, then it does not mean anything.’

Mamelodi Sundowns will next play host to Bidvest Wits when the two side’s meet at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday with kick off scheduled for 3:30pm.
