Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona believes Khama Billiat should seek a move abroad following an outstanding season in the Absa Premiership.
Billiat, who scored 12 goals and layed-on 17 assist across competitions this term, dominated in the Absa Premiership’s end of season awards gala on Monday, meaning a move abroad could be his next logical step.
Musona, who has been a friend of Billiat’s since the pair were teenagers, believes the player should move if he is to take his game to the next level.
‘I wish this time he will go somewhere else to better his football, where the professionalism level is higher. I hope he leaves South Africa and goes to a better club in Europe, but I am very happy for him,’ Musona told The Herald.
‘I am very happy for Khama. In South Africa, sometimes they have a bias towards locals when it comes to selecting the award winners. So, I was very happy when I saw him on television collecting those big awards in South Africa,’ he added Musona.
Musona and Billiat will be looking to spark Zimbabwe’s attack when the side faces Malawi in an Afcon 2017 qualifier on Sunday.
A win for The Warriors could see them book a spot in the tournament, which is set to be hosted by Gabon, with a game in hand, although they would also require a favourable result from Swaziland’s and Guinea’s clash.
Zimbabwe’s fixture against Malawi will be played at the National Sports Stadium.
The game will get underway at 15:00.
