Highlands Park newcomer Collins Mbesuma believes his experience will play a major role in helping the Lions of the North during their debut season in the Absa Premiership.
The 32-year-old was one of 12 players unveiled by coach Allan Freese including the likes of Charlton Mashumba from Jomo Cosmo and Botswana international Lebogang Ditsele.
The PSL veteran finished last season as the Absa Premierships top goalscorer with 14 goals for Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Mbesuma insists that he would like to repay the Lions of the North the faith shown in him by his new club, by giving his best performance on the field.
‘I am happy that the team has shown belief in me,’ Mbesuma said.
‘And I have to pay back by doing the best for the team.’
The 32-year-old then remarked that his experience in the league will help Highlands Park’s young team adapt to life in the top flight, reports SoccerLaduma.
‘It’s a team full of youngsters and I think my experience will come in handy and help the team. I want to continue scoring goals and help the team in their first season in the PSL,’ he added.
