Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro says his side were lucky to walk away with a point against Polokwane City following their 1-1 draw at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
Polokwane forward Puleng Tlolane opened the scoring in the 52nd minute with a fine curler before Ndoro’s 90th-minute goal ensured his side shared the spoils.
The 28-year-old striker admits that Rise and Shine were the better team on the day and accepts that in football anything can happen.
‘You can never predict soccer. We wanted to win the game, but this is soccer,’ Ndoro said after the match.
‘I managed to score an equaliser right at the end – same as Platinum [Stars did to us]. That’s football.
‘We are lucky. In the second half, they managed to create more chances than us but they didn’t score. The most important thing is that we managed to get a point.’
Orlando Pirates will now turn their focus to the Telkom Knockout Cup when they take on Golden Arrows at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday.
Kick-off has been set for 15:00.
