Platinum Stars midfielder Robert Ngambi believes it’s just a matter of time before his side finds their feet in the final third and start converting their opportunities in front of goal.

Dikwena have not had the brightest of starts to season in the Absa Premiership and Cup matches and has only managed to score three goals in five PSL matches, winning one, drew two and suffered two defeats.

The 30-year-old says he and his teammates have to work hard to change their form and start collecting positive result in the Absa Premiership.

‘It’s our job. Everybody knows what we have to do. We know it has been disappointing. We have been in poor form recently. We have to pull up our socks. We have to go and fight hard against Chippa. We have to pick up three points and things will be better for us,’ Ngambi told the Platinum Stars website.

‘Chippa are a good team. They have been doing well. They are playing at home and I think they have an advantage. We need to work hard to collect the points. We need to go all out and come back with the points. We need the points more than them.’

Ngambi knows his side’s biggest challenge this season has been scoring but he believes if Dikwena can convert their chances in the final third then their form will change.

‘It’s just a matter of time. We have been creating a number of scoring chances but we haven’t done well in the final third. If we can just score goals, I think the rest will follow,’ he added.

‘We need to look at ourselves and motivate ourselves and make sure that we perform according to the coach’s instructions. With confidence, I think we can start scoring goals.’

Platinum Stars will go up against Chippa United in an Absa Premiership clash at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday evening.

Kick-off has been set for 20:00.
