South Africa star Lebogang Phiri has returned to his club Brondby for the side’s first match of the Danish League season against Esbjerg on Sunday.

Phiri had to sit out his side’s 1-0 win at Scottish side Hibernian in the Uefa Europa League this Thursday following his failure to be granted a visa in time for the clash, reports KickOff.

The player has also been denied the opportunity to play at the upcoming  2016 Olympic Games as his club are reluctant to release him.

Indeed, it is believed that Phiri will incorporate being allowed to compete in future Olympic Games as a condition of his contract, with his present deal at Brondby set to expire at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Tefu Mashamaite could make his return to football on Sunday following an injury that has kept him out of Swedish side Hacken.

Finally, Granwald Scott will be hopeful of getting minutes when his Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava play their first game of the season at Senica.
