Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane reflects on his sides defeat to Smouha and their exit from the first edition of the Egyptian League Cup.

The Red Devils were forced to endure a 3-0 defeat to Smouha on matchday four of the EPL Cup group stages at the Al Arab Stadium through goals from Mohamed Abdelatty, Abdelkabir El Wady and Walid Soliman

Pitso Mosimane has since expressed his disappointment at suffering a defeat and being eliminated from the tournament.

“The players are overloaded and not ready. They just recovered from COVID-19,” Mosimane told his club’s official website

“We have to prepare the players for the World Cup. It is a difficult situation, but we still have nine days to prepare.”
