Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed that despite a meeting with the Al Ahly hierarchy, which left him “happy”, they have not discussed a new contract with his current deal set to run out at season’s end.
There has been almost constant speculation regarding Jingles’ future at the Egyptian giants over the past few weeks, with the club finally confirming last week via their official website that following a meeting between head of transfers Amr Tawfik and Mosimane’s camp, the coach would see out the remainder of his two-year contract without a pay increase.
The Egyptian giants are notorious for having coaches for short spells, with all six coaches prior to Mosimane lasting less than a year in the hot seat.
Mosimane has finally broken his silence on the matter, although his future still remains in the balance with the coach stating that contract talks will all be about timing.
“Thank you very much, Al Ahly, all parties are happy after that meeting. We all continue with full energies and focus to finish the current contract, ending this season. In sha’Allah, we might both want to enter into discussions for the new contract. It’s all about timing,” he tweeted.

Mosimane has enjoyed magnificent success with Ahly but his future may just be elsewhere as he has long been touted to step up to European football.
