Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane says the only way they can bounce back is by focusing on securing a victory in their next match against Raja Casablanca in the quarter-final first leg of the Caf Champions League.
The Red Eagles suffered their first defeat in the Egyptian Premier League this campaign after a narrow 1-0 loss to Al Masry at the Borg El Arab Stadium on Saturday evening through an early goal from Haytham Ayouni.
The defeat has the Red Devils remaining top of the league standings – level on 31 points with title rivals Zamalek in second place, with a game in hand over the defending champions.
Speaking in his post-match news conference, Mosimane reflected on his side’s defeat by a difficult Al Masry side as they look to bounce back and return to winning ways in their upcoming fixture.
“Abdelkader had an injury so he did not start the game,” Mosimane told his club’s official website.
“We played a difficult game. The game on Wednesday against Al Ittihad of Alexandria was also difficult. Al Hilal game was also difficult. We fought in the second half, but it is just a different game.
“The only way to come back is to win the next match.”
