Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane felt his side should’ve scored more goals against Zamalek, despite scoring five goals against the defending Egyptian Premier League champions.

The Red Eagles walked away with the bragging rights in the Cairo derby after they secured a 5-3 victory over Zamalek in a thrilling contest at the Cairo International Stadium.

An own goal from Mohamed Abo Gabal followed by a brace from Ali Maaloul and goals from Mohamed Sherif and Aliou Dieng saw Ahly move to the top of the table with nine points

“We managed to achieve a good result over Zamalek. My players played with a good spirit and were also tactically smarter.”

“We scored five goals; three in the first half and two in the second half. I wanted to score more, but you cannot have everything.”

“We are a big team. We are the champions of Africa, we are the team number three in the world, we are the CAF Super Cup champions… We are Al Ahly.”

“Finally, I would like to thank Al Ahly fans for their constant support to the team. They gave us great energy and motivated us a lot to achieve tonight’s victory.”
