Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly side will start their journey to defend their Egypt Cup title when they take on Egy Salloum FC in the first round of the competition.

The Red Eagles were drawn to play EGY Salloum FC in the round of 32 following its conclusion this Saturday, with the dates of the last-32 games to be announced on Monday.

Mosimane’s side will now focus on the Egyptian Premier League when they face Misr Lel Makkasa at the Al Ahly WE Al Salam Stadium on Tuesday.

The Red Devils will enter the match hoping to bounce back and return to winning ways after they played out to a goalless draw with Al Hilal in their Caf Champions League Group A clash over this past weekend.

Al Ahly released the following statement on their participation in the Egypt Cup:

“The Red Eagles will start their journey to defend the Egypt Cup title by facing Egy Salloum FC.

“The Egypt Cup’s draw, which was held on Saturday, placed Al Ahly to face EGY Salloum FC in the round of 32.

“Moreover, the dates of Egypt Cup’s round of 32 games will be announced on Monday.”
