Ajax Cape Town assistant coach Mich D’Avray admits that playing against the big clubs may help the Urban Warriors to perform better.

The Urban Warriors played out to a 1-1 draw with newly-promoted side Baroka in their opening Absa Premiership match of the season.

The Ajax assistant coach stood in for the suspended Roger de Sa during their stalemate with last seasons NFD champions and D’Avray believes that the bigger the club the better their performance becomes.

‘It’s a big one,’ D’Avray told SuperSport after the match.

D’Avray admits that there are no easy teams in the Absa Premiership this season but he insists that Ajax has to pay special attention to their next match against Orlando Pirates at the Cape Town Stadium on September 13.

‘There is no easy game in this league. You come to Polokwane and you play Baroka – it’s a difficult game. There are no easy games but obviously playing Orlando Pirates there is a little bit of extra spice,’ he added.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
