Polokwane City have secured the services of former Platinum Stars defender Thabiso Semenya.
The 33-year-old joins Rise and Shine on a free transfer after his contract with Dikwena expired last season.
City coach Luc Eymael confirmed the signing of Semenya after the defender caught his eye, while on trial at the club.
‘Yes, Thabiso has signed. He was training with us and also played in our friendlies against Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United recently,’ Eymael told KickOff.com.
City are also interested in signing strikers Christophe Martin-Suarez and Muhammad Sulumba.
‘We are also assessing a striker from the Belgium second division Chris Martin-Suarez, and another one from Malawi Muhammad Sulumba,’ he added.
‘Martin-Suarez got a slight knock to the ankle against SuperSport, but we are hopeful of signing him soon as he also has other offers in Belgium.’
The newly-appointed coach also confirmed that Rise and Shine will participate in two friendlies matches against Highlands Park and Orlando Pirates on August 8 and 10 respectively.
