SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthew has confirmed that midfielder Zama Rambuwane will spend the entire season on loan at Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Ra’anana.

The 19-year-old managed to rack up a total of eight appearances in all competitions for United last season while assisted one goal.

Matthews revealed that the Israeli club were willing to take Rambuwane on a permanent transfer, however, Matsatsantsa were only interested in loan out the player for the season, reports Goal.com.

‘But we declined the permanent move. Rather, we opted to loan him out,’ Matthews said.

‘The idea is not to commercialise the whole deal. SuperSport are getting nothing from this loan move – not a cent. Hapoel are responsible for the players’ move and will pay for everything.

‘They wanted to pay us something, but we didn’t want anything for now.’

Matthews says he will consider selling Rambuwane to Hapoel next season if the midfielder impresses the Israeli club this season.

‘We can decide on selling him outright after a season. We want him to settle in Israel and he can tell us whether he likes it there or not,’ he added.

‘What if we sell him permanently and the boy doesn’t like the lifestyle in Israel? We have to allow him to play in Israel first and we’ll take it from there.

‘It’s nice that he’ll be broadening his horizons in Europe. This league is growing and I’d be happy to see him succeed there.’

SuperSport United will now welcome Chippa United to the Lucas Moripe Stadium in the Absa Premiership on September 14.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
