South African-born right back Joel Untersee has become a transfer target for Serie A side Palermo, who are eager to sign the player from champions Juventus.
Untersee, who was born in South Africa but raised in Switzerland, has seen himself slide down the pecking order at the Italian giants following the arrival of veteran former Barcelona star Dani Alves at the club.
Palermo have already made contact with Juve over the prospective signing of the star, who has is yet to make his competitive debut for the club following a two-year loan spell with Swiss side Vaduz. Untersee joined Juventus’ academy in 2011.
The player is also yet to make his debut with the Swiss national side, meaning he would be eligible to represent South Africa should selectors show interest in the player.
Untersee made 22 appearances for Vaduz last term, scoring twice in an injury interrupted campaign.
