The dream of a European Champions Cup run may be over for South African sides, but the Bulls, Sharks and Lions will all enter the Challenge Cup Last 16 and have another shot at glory.

The Sharks lifted the competition last year and so are defending champions. They will go to French side Lyon in the round of 16 with high hopes of a place in the quarter-finals.

If the Sharks advance they will play the winner of the all-Welsh clash between Ospreys and Scarlets, a big opportunity to reach the semi-finals.

The Bulls are also off to France as they take on Bayonne and should have a good chance of advancing if they field a full-strength team.

The Lions go to Scotland to meet Edinburgh, and once again will fancy their chances if they click on the day.

The winners of the two ties involving the Bulls and Lions will clash in the quarter-finals, setting up a potential South African derby.
