South African-born midfielder Keanu Baccus has been compared to Lionel Messi following his ‘Messi-like’ assist against Leeds United.
The 21-year-old’s well-threaded through-ball set up teammate Kwame Yeboah to earn the Wanderers an equaliser minutes after the half-time break, and raised the atmosphere in Western Sydney’s new home-ground Bankwest Stadium.
Western Sydney Wanderers coach Markus Babbel had some huge praise for the 21-year-old’s performance against Leeds United.
‘Keanu, What a pass.’
‘If Messi was doing this, then people would talk 14 days about this. So, a fantastic ball.
‘This game is gold for us, from the pace, from the mentality and how we played… it is gold for us.’
