South African teenager Luther Singh has reportedly attracted interest from Champions League holders Real Madrid.
Los Blancos are reportedly keen on adding the youngster to their B team squad, where Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos is currently the assistant coach.
Singh is currently based in Sweden with Gais, will be keen to keep hold of their star player until the expiration of his contract later this year. The South African has been a revelation since joining Gais having hit 7 goals in 15 starts for the side, having recently been converted from a winger into a central striker.
Farouk Khan, who is Singh’s mentor, has urged his star to remain patient.
‘He is a little bit disheartened at missing out on the opportunity to go to Madrid now, but being 18 gives him the opportunity to be a bit more patient,’ Khan told KickOff.
‘To be honest with you we did not expect him to do so well so soon. Real Madrid’s B team would have been a fantastic platform for him to play in,’ Khan admitted.
Khan remains hopeful Real will continue to covet the player should he maintain his fine form.
‘Hopefully they retain their interest, but I have learnt in football that you have to strike while the iron is hot,’ he concluded.
