Sekhukhune United have officially announced the signing of defensive midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo from USL Championship side FC Cincinnati on a one-year-and-a-half contract.
The 31-year-old began his career turning out for SuperSport United’s academy before he was promoted to the first team at 16.
He then made the move to Dutch side Feyenoord, where he remained until 2017 before making a move to English outfit Brentford, where he spent three seasons.
Mokotjo left the English side in 2020 to continue his career in America playing for Major League Soccer side FC Cincinnati.
Sekhukhune United released the following statement on the signing of the Bafana Bafana international, which reads as follows:
“Sekhukhune United Chairman Mr. Simon Malatji is pleased to announce the services of ‘The General’ and wishes him well.
“However, the player also expressed his gratitude for having joined the ‘Babina Noko’ family and he is ready to join the rest of the squad.
“Sekhukhune United Football Club would like to welcome Mokotjo to Babina Noko family with his wealth of experience.”
