Amajita coach Thabo Senong has announced the squad to take on Lesotho in the second-leg of the third and final round of the Caf African Youth championships qualifier.
Senong has retained almost the entire team that won 2-0 away in Maseru and expects to finish the job on Saturday against Lesotho.
The eventual winner will qualify for the CAF Youth championships in Zambia next year with the best three teams on the continent qualifying for the FIFA World Cup in South Korea later in 2017, reports Safa.net.
‘We are all excited about the progress and the idea of qualifying for the CAF championships and it is every player and coach’s dream of playing in major continental and global tournaments,’ Senong said.
The coach insists that his Amajita side is confident going into their qualifying match against Lesotho on Saturday.
‘The boys are looking sharp and we know Lesotho will not be a pushover but we need to be well prepared and I am confident we will deliver,’ he added.
‘Lesotho intent to spoil the party but if we play well, consolidate our position, keep the ball, work hard as a team and not getting too excited, we will make it.
‘We need to protect our two goals we scored in the first leg and if we score an early goal, it will help us control the game without much pressure.’
The match between Amajita and Lesotho will take place at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Saturday. kicks of at 15h00.
Kick-off has been set for 15:00.
