Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala’s search for a new club continues after his move to China didn’t materialise due to the coronavirus.
The 35-year-old left Amakhosi towards the end of 2018 to join Turkish SuperLig outfit BB Erzurumspor, where he made 18 appearances across all competitions.
Tshabalala then parted ways with the club, following their relegation and has been clubless for the past six months.
The ex-Chiefs midfielder admits he was disappointed that his proposed move to China didn’t materialise due to the threat of the coronavirus. He has since returned to South Africa after the Chinese Super League suspended all football activities at the end of January in the wake of the virus outbreak.
‘I am back home at the moment. I won’t say much about my next destination and where my next destination is,’ Tshabalala told Marawa TV.
‘I was disappointed but I had to make peace with it [not moving to China]. It’s beyond my control, it happened, but one has to find other alternatives.
‘I still have the desire and hunger. I am still positive that I will make it at this age anywhere if the opportunity comes. I still get calls and texts with enquiries if they can invite me, they still see value in me.’
